Description: In this engaging and hands-on course, homeschoolers will delve into the exciting world of 3D art and design. Through a blend of creative exploration and structured learning, students will discover fundamental techniques and concepts essential to creating three-dimensional artworks and designs. Course Objectives: Introduction to 3D Art: Explore the basics of three-dimensional art forms, including sculpture, modeling, and spatial design. Fundamental Techniques: Learn essential techniques such as molding, carving, assembling, and digital modeling using various materials and tools. Design Principles: Understand the principles of design as applied to three-dimensional artworks, including balance, proportion, texture, and spatial relationships. Creative Projects: Engage in hands-on projects that encourage creativity and personal expression while applying learned techniques and principles. Digital Tools: Explore digital tools and software for 3D modeling and design, enhancing technical skills and introducing modern methods of creation. Art History and Context: Discover the historical and contemporary significance of 3D art forms, exploring different cultural contexts and influential artists. Portfolio Development: Build a portfolio of completed projects throughout the course, showcasing personal growth and skills acquired. Learning Environment: Classes will be interactive and supportive, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where students can share ideas, receive feedback, and develop their artistic voice. Through demonstrations, discussions, and critiques, participants will gain confidence in their abilities and deepen their understanding of three-dimensional art and design. Requirements: No prior experience in 3D art is necessary. Students should come prepared with enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to experiment with different materials and techniques. Note: This class is taught by Stephanie Shaffer, a certified educator with licences in Texas, Oregon, and Colorado in Art and Special Education. Ms. Shaffer has taught hih school Art1, Ceramics, Sculpture, AP Art and Design.. and for some reason Geometry. She has also been a case manager with extensive experience writing and implementing IEP Goals.
