Kiln Services
At Denver Ceramic Studio, when it comes to firing your wares, we treat them like family—literally! Your creations might cozy up with our own or those from our nearest and dearest. That said, we're cautious folk and won't fire anything combustible, like clays with paper bits, metals, glass, or homemade concoctions that might cause a kerfuffle in our kilns. And we draw the line at greenware with glaze—no can do!
Remember, firing is a wild ride with risks galore—fragile handling, kiln calamities, you name it. So, while we strive for success, there are no guarantees! Oh, and if you've got a mountain of wares, please don't overload us or cause a ruckus for our other fine folks.

Here at Denver Ceramic Studio, clay's our game—no glass, no glitter, just good ol' clay creations!

What is "Firing":
Here at Denver Ceramic Studio, firing up your creations is our bread and butter—or should we say, our clay and glaze! In ceramic land, 'firing' means heating things up in our trusty kilns, no matter if you call it 'cooking,' 'nuking,' 'heating,' or even 'that thing with the kiln'—we get it.
Our kiln dance isn't just about cranking up the heat; it's a slow, steady affair taking 8 to 12 hours to reach that perfect Cone value. Why Cone? Because this isn't your precise bake-off—it's about how fast we get there (like baking brownies at a lower temp for longer). And no, you can't speed this up like your cousin's grill—trust us, it won't end well!
Now, about guarantees? None here, folks. Firing is a risky business—from quirks in your prep showing up under heat to the occasional kiln crisis or 'Concrete Impact Disease' (yes, it's a thing!). We've seen it all and then some.
Oh, and we do have our limits—no risky business allowed. We reserve the right to say 'nope' if your creation could harm our kiln, mess with other folks' pieces, or if it's just downright hazardous.
So, bring us your clay wonders, and let's fire things up—with caution and a dash of kiln wisdom!
